Building Transfer Success in Iowa - The Iowa ACAC Transfer Summit
In the throes of the hot summer sun, the stage was set for dozens of the world’s greatest professionals to assemble and represent their beloved institutions. Legends would gather. Rivals would meet. Strategies would be revealed.
Fortunately for attendees, however, unlike the World Cup, this summer’s iteration of Iowa ACAC’s annual Transfer Roundtable did not require any cardio.
Still, this year’s Transfer Roundtable (hosted at DMACC Urban) proved to be a success by bringing together transfer admissions staff from 17 different four-year institutions across the state of Iowa to discuss transfer trends, share best practices, tackle common challenges, and munch on tacos.

The Iowa ACAC Transfer Committee would especially like to thank multiple individuals for sharing their time and space with us: DMACC Urban for providing a phenomenal host location, DMACC’s Erin Lee Schneider for sharing a wonderful session related to wellbeing through change, as well as Iowa ACAC and its member body for catering the event.
Much like the World Cup, the Transfer Roundtable demonstrates that success is built on teamwork, strategy, and a shared commitment (in our case, to transfer student success).
With limited opportunities for transfer admissions staff to network and share in transfer-specific professional development, the Transfer Roundtable has grown and evolved into a semi-formal annual event over the past decade.
Iowa ACAC looks forward to continuing to build on its tradition of offering transfer professional development, with some exciting plans for Summer 2027 programming forthcoming!
