C2C: What to Expect

Colleges to Counselors (C2C) is a more recent addition to the Iowa ACAC event lineup, and one that we are so excited about! We kicked off this event in 2018 at Drake University and had a wonderful time. For the second year, we will be hosting C2C in September. This year, it will be at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, on Thursday, September 26.

C2C is a great event for both high school counselors and college admissions counselors. High school counselors get to hear short updates from all participating colleges. We currently have 28 colleges and organizations registered. College admissions counselors will give brief updates about their school/organization and there will be time for the high school counselors to ask any questions they would like. High school counselors receive a booklet as a great way to take away what they learned at C2C and serve their students with the information.

NEW THIS YEAR! We will offer a post C2C session covering information on dual credit going into college from high school. As we know, high school students are financially cautious and want to get their education in an efficient and beneficial way. This makes dual credit very attractive to high school students. Within the state of Iowa, we have very involved community colleges, colleges, and universities that make dual credit courses a possibility for high school students, which is an amazing opportunity for all. This session will explain the transition of dual credit courses coming into college curriculum. We will also go over how these courses can benefit the student. Dual credit can be confusing, and we want to help with that!

If you have any questions or would like to register for C2C at St. Ambrose University, please feel free to reach out to Haley Best at [email protected] or 563-333-5741.
