L.E.A.P. - Leading & Excelling, Academically & Professionally

A leadership conference for underrepresented freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in Iowa.

April 1, 2020
8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
DMACC Ankeny Campus
Ankeny, Iowa

L.E.A.P. will empower underrepresented students to understand the life-long rewards that come from leadership, good decision-making, and academic success. Participants will attend breakout sessions designed to encourage and equip students for life beyond high school.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from a variety of professionals, as well as from one another, about what it takes to achieve their goals and be successful. By helping these young adults identify the successes and  accomplishments of others from similar backgrounds, we can help students tap into their true potential to be successful in their academic endeavors and  professional aspirations.

LEAP College Fair

We are expecting close to 150 underrepresented college students from Iowa to attend LEAP. So, we are hosting a college fair, in conjunction with our LEAP Conference, for those students who participate in LEAP. The minimal exhibitor registration fee of $50 will go to the Freddy Miranda Access Scholarship Fund. As with all of our college fairs, participation in the program is limited to universities and colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, trade schools, national military organizations, apprenticeship/union programs and non-profit postsecondary planning services.
