A FREE conference for underrepresented high school students in grades 10-12, L.E.A.P (Leading & Excelling Academically & Professionally) aims at empowering youth to understand the life-long rewards that come from leadership, good decision-making, and academic success. Join us for workshop sessions on leadership, academic success, how to find your next steps after high school, and a resource fair.
Lunch is provided and travel stipends are available (first-come, first-serve) to help cover the transportation expense of bringing students to the conference. To be eligible, the minimum distance must be 75 miles to apply.

Keynote Speaker
Jordan Brooks (he series) is a multifaceted creator, educator, facilitator, and community builder. He is the founder of KNWSLF, pronounced Know Self, which serves as both his artist name and a creative organization. KNWSLF is dedicated to helping individuals and communities recognize their unique and collective capacity to influence culture and foster personal and communal growth. Over the past 15 years, Jordan has seamlessly blended creative expression and inquiry with community-centered and student-centered interventions. Guided by the affirmation, “See yourself, know yourself, be yourself,” he crafts developmentally engaging experiences that encourage participants to envision and create inclusive and affirming concepts of self, relationships, communities, and organizations.
Jordan is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in the Social and Cultural Studies of Education program at Iowa State University. His research delves into the impact of art consumption, creation, and curation on racial and ethnic identity development across various contexts.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Jordan serves as the Assistant Dean of Students for Intercultural Initiatives and Resource Centers at Iowa State University. He holds a B.A. in Art & Technology and Psychology from Allegheny College and an M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
